10 Best Bagged Upright Vacuums 2026 in the United States

The Shark UV730 Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum offers strong suction that works well on both carpets and hard floors, making it versatile for various surfaces. It features a HEPA filtration system combined with anti-allergen seal technology, which helps trap dust and allergens effectively—great if you want cleaner air at home. The vacuum has a 0.8-quart bagless dust cup, providing a decent capacity for longer cleaning sessions before needing to empty it.

At about 13.5 pounds, it is moderately light and designed with swivel steering for easier maneuverability around furniture and tight spaces. The Lift-Away feature lets you detach the main pod to clean stairs, upholstery, or tricky spots, adding to its flexibility. The PowerFins HairPro self-cleaning brushroll is especially useful for pet owners, helping to pick up pet hair without constant brush maintenance. LED headlights reveal hidden dust, which is a handy bonus for thorough cleaning.

It comes with basic attachments like a dust brush and crevice tool, focusing on essential tasks rather than an extensive accessory kit. This is a corded model, so it requires staying near power outlets during use. If you want a reliable, easy-to-use upright vacuum that handles pet hair well and improves indoor air quality, this model meets those needs nicely. However, those looking for cordless convenience or a larger dust capacity might want to consider other options.

The Oreck Commercial XL Vacuum Cleaner is designed for both carpets and hard floors, making it versatile for various cleaning needs. One of its significant strengths is its powerful suction, which effectively lifts and removes deeply embedded dirt. This makes it particularly suitable for commercial environments where thorough cleaning is essential. Additionally, the high-speed brush roll and side edge brushes enhance its cleaning performance by agitating and lifting debris from deep within carpets and reaching corners efficiently.

At just 9 pounds, this vacuum is lightweight and easy to carry around, which is a major plus for cleaning large areas or multiple rooms. The automatic height adjustment feature contributes to its ease of use, as it adapts to different floor types without manual intervention. Moreover, the ergonomic Helping Hand handle and non-marring bumpers protect walls and furniture, making the cleaning process smoother and more convenient.

However, there are some drawbacks to consider. The vacuum is not cordless, which might limit its range of movement and require frequent plugging and unplugging. While the bag capacity of 9 quarts is decent, ensuring proper maintenance and timely bag replacement will be important to avoid performance issues. The vacuum comes with essential features but lacks additional advanced attachments that could enhance its versatility further. The Oreck Commercial XL is a solid choice for users looking for a reliable, powerful, and lightweight vacuum cleaner primarily for commercial use.

The Eureka Airspeed Ultra-Lightweight Vacuum is a solid choice for those who want an easy-to-handle cleaning tool for both carpets and hard floors. It delivers good suction with its 700-watt motor and a wide 10.5-inch cleaning path, which helps finish jobs faster. Its lightweight design, at just 7.7 pounds, makes it simple to carry around and store in tight spaces. Unlike bagged models, it uses a 1.7-liter bagless container for dirt, which is convenient to empty without extra cost for bags. The washable foam filter is another cost saver since you can rinse it and reuse it instead of buying replacements.

It comes with handy tools like a crevice tool and dusting brush that attach right to the handle, making it easy to clean upholstery, corners, and window sills. On the downside, the vacuum runs at about 90 decibels, which is on the louder side and might be uncomfortable in quiet homes. Also, it only offers one suction speed, so you can't adjust power for delicate surfaces or heavy dirt. This model is a great fit for everyday household use where lightweight and ease of use are priorities, especially if you want a no-fuss, bagless vacuum that works well on multiple floor types.
